Yoga


The term 'Yoga' originates from Sanskrit which is an ancient Indian language widely recognized as the first language ever. This proves that Yoga is an ancient art. Yoga is more than just stretching the body and applying flexible postures. It comprises various breathing exercises and a disciplined routine because only discipline can unite the body, soul and mind to create a state of perfect harmony which is the objective of Yoga. 
Yoga comprises a family of ancient spiritual practices. It is one of the six schools of Hindu philosophy. Yoga practitioners perform Yoga for varying benefits. For example, some practitioners are motivated to learn yoga because of the spiritual element that it provides. Others practice Yoga to obtain more flexibility in the joints and muscles which helps to relieve body pain. 'Suryanamaskar' is a total body exercise and very useful in curing lower back pain. Yoga can also relieve a person of stress and tension which can be a cause of body pain.  
Yoga is performed using several techniques involving all forms of existence such as physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Accurate physical postures, breathing exercises and meditation are some of the essential components of Yoga. 
Yoga plays a very important part in Garbha Sanskar.

Styles of Yoga:

Hatha Yoga

This branch of Yoga primarily focuses on improving the body's flexibility while strengthening the muscles within the body. The main goal of Hatha Yoga is to promote health and well-being through exercise. When done on a regular basis it makes the body strong and health. The practitioner feels healthy, lively and burst with energy.  

Ashtanga

Ashtanga is a faster and a very popular type of Yoga, it is similar to aerobics and hence sometimes referred to as aerobic yoga. It consists of quick and smooth transitions between poses. 

Benefits of Yoga:

Yoga should be done considering your capabilities and not as contest to be performed in class. The most important thing to do is to practice some form of Yoga; which comforts you, at least once each day. Here are some benefits of Yoga:

Therefore, it is essential to learn the proper technique to relax after tedious activities.
People spend a great deal of time sleeping and trying to recuperate. However, many people can't shake off their weariness even after sleeping for long hours, this occurs because they don't know the proper technique of relaxation. So, Yoga offers many relaxation activities which can be very beneficial. 
The principles of deep relaxation can be applied with equal effectiveness to our sleeping hours as well as our waking ones. When properly done, deep relaxation can become a powerful meditation practice.
